Welcome
Taylor Nkollo, J.D.
Taylor Nkollo, a Nigerian-American, graduated Cum Laude from The University of Oklahoma with aspirations to become an attorney and has never stopped since. She is a recent graduate of Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law where she was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient. As a young girl, she always had a desire to join the fight against inequality and the never ending fight for justice. She is currently America’s Most Beautiful Miss Texas 2023 and will be running for America’s Most Beautiful later this year.
After graduating college, Taylor was awarded a Communications Internship with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in Washington, D.C. This program provided her with an office placement and opportunities to meet and interact with legislators and political leaders.
Taylor was placed as a Communications Intern in the office of the incomparable, late Congressman John Lewis. At the conclusion of her internship, she was hired full term as one of the Congressman’s Congressional Hill Staffers.
While working for Congressman Lewis, Taylor studied his teachings of protecting our collective human house, securing personal dignity, and stirring up “good trouble”. A member of the “Big Six” leaders of the Civil Rights movement, Congressman John Lewis was the youngest speaker at The March on Washington; only 23 years old.
His investment and trust in the next generation inspired Taylor to fully invest and trust in herself.
She saw a need for the Taylor Nkollo Legal Women on the Rise Scholarship as she navigated the high costs associated with her law school applications. In 2021, Taylor was a legal extern for the Texas Rangers Baseball Club as part of the SMU Corporate Externship Program.
Taylor Nkollo’s driving mission is to actively pour into women just as she has been poured into.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
